Artist’s Oil Gamblin Colors are handmade to ensure the well-being and environment of artists. True to historical job assets, but cleaner and more permanent, it combines the best practises of the past with the new technological developments.
Gamblin Artist’s Oils have sumptuous working properties, made from the best grades of pigment (yes, there are differences), each colour has its own distinctive texture, undertone, and dye intensity characteristics.
The colours spectrum includes historically precise paints as well as new synthetic colours. You will find the perfect colours in the Gamblin line, ranging from classical realism to modern abstraction.
Almost all Oil Paints of Gamblin Artist are totally non toxic if used as directed. Most of the products are manufactured from alkaline distilled linseed oil, which produces a solid, versatile colour film with much less yellow than the conventional linseed oil cold pressure, the traditional oil paint binder.
Use safflower oil as a binder for selecting colours. These vegetable oils are not only totally non toxic; they are usually used in health and beauty products and hence you have confidence in their quality.

Gamblin Radiant Colors consist of a total of eight vivid tints – pure colour and white mixtures in Munsell System at Value 7. On this page we illustrate how Radiant Colors come to be, and how painters use Radiant Colors.
From Robert Gamblin’s friendship with the painter Wolf Kahn, Gamblin Radiant Colors were made. The Wolf landscapes are expressed in pure colour, with a vivid palette and bold shaped forms expressing the natural world. Wolf works with light pastels almost as fluently as he does with oil paints.
Because pastels are a “dry” medium, pure pigment sticks (ULB) plus several tints of pigments at various settings should be added to the pigment. Wolf followed his palette of oil paints – which incorporated pure tube colours with lighter tints. In the creation of 8 extreme colours known as Radiants, Robert collaborated with Wolf.
